Data analysis
Data analysis has become one of the most important challenges in the digital age. During my training, I took courses that taught me how to analyze data, produce reports, and understand them. You can find a list of these courses at the end of this article.
My training at GSEM, particularly the courses in statistics, econometrics, and economics, familiarized me with statistical analysis formulas and software such as R, as well as with the analysis of economic factors. My financial analysis courses in my bachelor’s degree, as well as those I took during my exchange in Sydney, taught me how to analyze different markets, as detailed in the article on financial analysis.
The Business Analytics (S210010) course aimed to be less theoretical and more practical, teaching us how to collect data related to an economic activity, analyze it, produce graphs and an explanatory report, and then propose solutions for optimization or problem solving.
The Open Science (D200001) course offered us the opportunity to participate in a hackathon project, which required compiling and organizing data provided by the city of Geneva in order to map the energy consumption of every building in the city.
Of course, the management courses I took during my Bachelor’s degree, as well as the many projects I completed as part of my Master’s degree, allowed me to put these skills into practice.
